Life Safety Issues

Life-Safety Issues_Home-Inspection-ServicesIn the course of our Engineered Home Inspection for Frank in Hopkinton, New Hampshire, we uncovered a Life Safety issue that required immediate action.

The heating unit vent as installed needs immediate action. An unsafe condition exists and it is a possible health hazard.

Corrosion was noted on the metal flue. It appears that the corrosion may be related to the steam vent above the boiler.  This condition may be the result of flue gases that did not expel up the flue. The flue gases cooled, condensed on their way back down the flue, and the resulting aldehydes deteriorated the metal flue. There is corrosion and a long run. These holes cause exhaust gases to enter the living area of the home with potentially lethal results. This should be investigated further and repaired as necessary.

Make sure that your home is inspected by professionals who will identify all of the Life Safety issues in your home.
